Open Access BPO recently relaunched its annual health and wellness program as FitQuest 2026. The global initiative shifts from weight loss to holistic health and mental resilience.
Open Access BPO officially launched its 2026 wellness program on January 15, scaling the annual initiative into a global operation for the first time.
Since 2013, the Open Access BPO Biggest Loser Challenge has served as a key weight-loss initiative for its employees. This program encourages the workforce to stay active within an industry stereotyped for its decades-long history of sedentary lifestyles.
What began as an engagement activity has transformed into the company’s primary health pillar for its staff. This year, the initiative returns as FitQuest: Your Journey to Better Health, marking a new chapter in employee wellness.
Global Evolution of Employee Wellness
Developed by the OABPO Clinical Services team, FitQuest expands beyond Makati and Davao to include the workforce in Taipei and Las Vegas. This brings our international sites under a single initiative.
OABPO Vice President Joy Sebastian opened the live-streamed event from our Makati office, emphasizing that FitQuest 2026 is about permanent lifestyle modification, not a temporary challenge.
While weight loss remains a key metric, the primary goal is the development of sustainable habits. She highlighted an inclusive, “no-pressure” approach focused on personal growth.
“This program is designed to meet you wherever you are. We’ve built this to be supportive, engaging, and realistic.”
Healping lead the program’s physical activities is Coach JR Madriaga, founder of ActiveFit, a consultancy of fitness professionals specializing in integrating resistance training into functional sports and recreation. With a decade of specialized experience, Coach JR is shifting the program’s focus from pure physical exertion toward a balance of stamina and mental resilience.
New Rules, Team Accountability, and High Stakes
While OABPO’s weigh-loss challenges have always focused on solo efforts and scale weight, FitQuest 2026 moves the goalposts toward a more interactive, holistic experience.
A new Team Category has been introduces, where groups of five rely on each other for collective accountability. To reflect this shift, the scoring system has been overhauled to reward consistency.
Performance is now weighted across three key areas: 40% Weight Management, 30% Attendance, and 30% Vital Statistics (including BMI, body fat percentage, and waist circumference).
To align the mental and physical components of the program, Coach JR is integrating Neurobics, a short, structured brain-training exercises designed to stimulate new neural pathways.
These 10-minute cognitive warm-ups use movement, sensory challenges, and problem-solving to sharpen focus and disrupt the psychological patterns that drive unhealthy habits before physical training begins. This approach ensures the 2026 season moves beyond scale weight, creating a true transformation in both habits and overall health.
The stakes have been raised as well. The top-performing group in the Team Category will take home PHP 50,000, while individual winners across various categories are eligible for prizes ranging from PHP 10,000 to PHP 25,000.
The Human Element of Transformation
Closing the launch, Clinical Services Manager Nurse Loraine Lopez looked beyond the mechanics of the competition to the human element of the initiative. She insisted that while the stakes are high, the primary victory is found in the individual’s evolution.
“The truest goal here for us is to achieve that personal, positive, and healthy change in our lives,” Lopez stated, reminding the global workforce that the company remains a permanent partner in their pursuit of vitality.
At Open Access BPO, health is no longer treated as a simple office perk. FitQuest 2026 represents a direct investment in the workforce, ensuring every team member has the vitality to thrive both professionally and personally. By fostering this energy, the program supports a life that extends well beyond the workday.
The true measure of success is not a more efficient office, but a healthier, more fulfilled global community.
