Pride Month may have wrapped up weeks ago, the Open Access BPO team is still feeling the positive energy from our internal events that celebrated diversity and being our true selves.
This underscores the success of the multilingual call center’s inaugural Pride Week, a series of activities recently conducted across our Makati and Davao offices. The initiative was dedicated to celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community and firmly reiterating our organizational commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Held from June 23 to 27, 2025, the five-day observance highlighted the company’s ongoing efforts to build an inclusive workplace where all employees feel valued and respected.
This year, the multilingual call center seamlessly blended celebratory events with its advocacy, offering daily engaging activities that were thoughtfully designed for both enjoyment and purpose.
Pride and Purpose with Team Makati
Open Access BPO’s Makati team kicked off Pride Week on June 23 by transforming its 7th Floor Cafeteria with rainbow-themed decorations. Branded pins and stickers featuring the company s Pride design were handed out, symbolizing support for diversity and inclusion.
A key highlight was the SOGIE Talk, led by Mental Health Provider and HIV Counselor Barbie Bague. Streamed to Davao, the session explored SOGIESC (sexual orientation, gender identity, expression, and sexual characteristics) topics and emphasized the role of understanding and compassion in celebrating Pride.
The week featured daily activities that blended celebration with advocacyโmovie marathons showcasing LGBTQIA+ stories, a dress-up contest, and a photo challenge encouraging creative self-expression.
To wrap up, teams competed in Trivia Night: Pride Month Edition, testing their knowledge on SOGIESC, queer history, and pop culture. The week ended on a high note with a Karaoke Jam and Talent Showcase, celebrating employee talents with music and refreshments.
Team Davao Embraces Colors of Acceptance
Team Davao welcomed Pride Week on June 23 with colorful office decorations and a five-day queer-themed movie marathon. A Pride Message Board invited employees to share heartfelt notes of solidarity and encouragement.
To promote learning, the team joined the SOGIE Talk via livestream from Makati, gaining deeper insight into gender identity and expression.
As the week continued, Davao employees joined Pride Trivia Night, enjoyed food and drinks, and received Pride-themed shirts. The celebration concluded with the awarding of Dress-Up Contest and Trivia Night winners, who took home certificates and cash prizes, capping off a fun and meaningful week.
Pride with a Purpose
All proceeds from drink sales and Trivia Night registration fees at both Makati and Davao locations will go directly to The Golden Gays, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support and shelter for elderly members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
This initiative is a vital step in connecting our team with the realities of the LGBTQIA+ community. It aims to foster a deeper understanding among our employees and extend our support beyond the office, directly impacting communities in need.
