On September 26, in observance of Save Sierra Madre Day, #OpenAccess and Fostering Education & Environment for Development (FEED) held Plant It Forward 2026 at the UP Laguna-Quezon Land Grant in Siniloan, Laguna.

With more than 30 volunteers planting native saplings, the initiative supported local reforestation efforts and highlighted the importance of protecting the Sierra Madre and its forests.

Observed annually on September 26 under Presidential Proclamation No. 413, Save Sierra Madre Day calls attention to the importance of conserving this vital mountain range.
