3 Ways your call-to-action can make prospects take the next step

When creating any form of content aimed at prospective customers, your goal is always to entice them to take an action and see more conversions made. Your visitors, however, can t get past your sign-up page or checkout process without having to go through your call-to-action (CTA) prompts.
Since this is the case, knowing how to optimize CTA prompts is therefore what you need to get the results that you are targeting. Here are three ways your CTA can make your prospects respond the way you want them to:

1. Focus on value

Keep in mind that you’re trying to get the attention of busy Internet users; one second they re reading your email or checking out your social media post and the next they re gone. To convince them to pause for a while and go to your landing page, you need to hit the right target. One great way to capture your prospects attention is by letting them know how they can benefit from doing business with you. Your CTA prompt must briefly explain the advantages people can gain from your products or services.

2. Keep it simple and clear

Your CTA instructs your prospects on what they should do next. If your instructions sound complicated or if you ask people to do too many actions, you can easily lose their interest. Keep your CTA easy to read by omitting unnecessary words or phrases that don t contribute to the overall thought of your prompt. Similarly, don’t use vague or flowery words. Those two or three lines must convey your message in a clear yet compelling way.

3. Make it sound urgent

Aside from other brands that offer the same products or services that you do, your toughest competitor is your customer s lack of action. One way to motivate them to click fast is by providing a sense of urgency. The action that you’re asking them to do must be something that they can easily complete right at the very moment that they’re reading your CTA.

Call-to-action prompts are necessary components of your marketing tools. They can help you achieve your targeted results by driving engagement. The sales process consists of several steps, and for you to take your prospects to the last step, you need to show them where to go next. Writing compelling CTA prompts can be your way of urging prospects to take a step further into the buying process.
