App Review: Zappix, scores one for customer service

E-Mobile IndustryMany consumers find themselves clutching the phone for hours on end just to have a customer service representative attend to their calls. Does this sound familiar? If you’ve had enough of waiting for a call center agent to pick up your call, then download Zappix for a refreshing way of airing your consumer woes.

A customer’s nightmare

The Zappix app is beneficial for most people as it helps them to navigate the labyrinths often masquerading as call option menus for different service providers. You know what we mean - press 1 for technical support, press 2 for sales, press 3 for complaints, press 4 for oh sorry, we cannot help you - menus that take up quite a chunk of your time as you seemingly cannot find what type of service you are looking for and have to go back to the start of what is already a very long phone call to try all over again. Yes, this whole scenario is a horribly common ordeal.

Zappix Customer Service: the mediator

Thankfully, Zappix dispels this nightmare by allowing users to reach a large database of service providers, government agencies, and non-government organizations, in different categories. This database even includes eBay and NFL Shop. The premise is that if the brand you’re searching for is mainstream (i.e., the majority of the American population uses it), then you could expect it to be on the Zappix customer service list.

The ingenious app works this way: tap a company and Zappix will provide the options as if you are choosing them from the voice-activated menu. For example, a tap on HP will lead to a menu with Personal sales, Small business sales, and technical support/replacement parts, among other choices.

Each banner could lead to other choices to further funnel into the service you need. Or, you could just opt to tap the operator/call icons which will dial the correct number and input the information you initially entered. You can ignore the voice prompts after Zappix dials as the app will navigate them for you.

The results are nothing short of outstanding: you will no longer have to waste time trying to find the right option for your problem. This would lead to marginally shortened call time, and you will no longer be as flustered when you finally have a call center agent on the line.

The catch

The best part is this: there is no catch! Zappix customer service stores information on your phone and never copies it to the developer’s servers. You can save the information you entered (such as your account number and billing details) and use it again for future transactions. The app supports iPhones and Android-powered devices and could be downloaded for free. Furthermore, the airtime charges only apply once you choose to call the brands.

The verdict

Given how troublesome it could be to find accurate IT support and service or customer support in general, Zappix rose to the challenge and streamlined the process. Now you will no longer have to navigate the menus and go back and forth between operators - as the app promises, you can now Skip annoying voice menus when calling customer service.
